We Believe...
That the Bible was written by men that were supernaturally inspired; that it is truth without error, and therefore is forever the only complete and final revelation of the will of God to man.
That there is only one God, and that He is omniscient, omnipotent, and omnipresent. He is the Creator of all, and made up of the Trinity; that is, the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.
That man was made in the image of God, originally without sin. Because of Adam and Eve’s disobedience, sin entered into the world and the punishment is a physical death, a spiritual death, and now all mankind is born with a sin nature. Man is totally depraved and condemned.
That Jesus was born of a virgin, Mary, and that Jesus was both man and God.
That salvation is through grace by faith in Christ Jesus. Even though we do not deserve it, Jesus died on the cross for the sin of mankind, even though He Himself was sinless. Christ died for all, but only those that receive and believe on Him will be saved.
That justification is the blood of Jesus covering our sins, making the believer righteous. The believer is pardoned from sin and given eternal life with God.
That repentance and faith are taught in God’s Word and by the Holy Spirit. Both of these are given to the person at salvation. The act of repentance is a turning away from sin; while faith is believing in Christ, His Word, and following it.
That the church is local; a group of baptized believers coming together. The church should observe and participate in both the Lord’s Supper and Baptism. The church is founded by Jesus Christ and demonstrated on the Day of Pentecost.
That Baptism is the symbol which identifies the believer with Christ through the death, burial, and resurrection. It is done by immersion, and it is not required for salvation, nor does it aid in conversion.
That the Lord’s Supper is used to have a time of reflection on the death, resurrection, and imminent return of Jesus Christ. Although it is an ordinance of the church, there is no set number of times the church should observe. Just that as often as we do it, “this do in remembrance of me”.
That a believer’s salvation is guaranteed by God and no believer can lose their salvation.
That Christ will return in the clouds and take all “church-age” believers with Him. After a seven year tribulation period, Jesus will rule for 1,000 years. Following this will be the final judgment, where Satan and his followers will be cast into the lake of fire for eternity.
